Alternative
relationship
counselling.
Room to talk about your relationships, the agreements between you and what each person needs. There is no single template for how that should look.

All sexual orientations and genders welcome.

Start with your
actual relationships.
You might be in a triad, have partners who are not partners with each other, or be exploring consensual non-monogamy. We can discuss your circumstances before arranging sessions.
Agreements that make sense
Understanding what each person has agreed to, and what needs a clearer conversation.
Time, attention and care
How commitments are shared, whose needs are heard and what feels difficult to balance.
Change within the relationships
New connections, shifting boundaries, jealousy or hurt can be explored without assuming the structure is the problem.

Participation and privacy
Who comes
into the room?
You can enquire individually, with one partner or about involving several partners. Before a joint appointment, discuss who would attend, what each person hopes for and how information would be handled.
People in alternative relationships are welcome, whatever their sexual orientation. There is no assumption that everyone is connected in the same way.
Start with
a conversation.
Use the consultation to outline the relationships involved. Wayne can discuss participation, confidentiality and whether the proposed sessions are appropriate.

Agree on a next step
Discuss who would attend and the appointment arrangements.
Before we meet.
Does everyone in the relationship network have to attend?
Not necessarily. Enquire about your circumstances before booking. Who participates should be discussed rather than assumed, including whether individual or shared conversations are appropriate.
Can we enquire if we are considering opening a relationship?
Yes. You can ask about support with expectations, boundaries and differing wishes. Considering an open relationship does not mean anyone has agreed to it; each person’s choices matter.
How is confidentiality handled between partners?
Ask Wayne to explain the arrangements and their limits before counselling begins. In particular, discuss how information from separate and shared conversations would be handled among the people involved.
